Hospitality House (Hebrews 13:2-3), Inc.

Mission Statement

The Hospitality House encourages families and friends to visit the incarcerated at Menard Correctional Center,Chester Mental Health Center, and Pinckneyville Correctional Center by providing an affordable, safe, clean, peaceful place of lodging.  Our mission is twofold.  First, the Hospitality House helps keep families together.  When families maintain close ties during a period of incarceration, that family has a better chance of being together after the incarceration period is over.  Second, the Hospitality House brings together people in the same situation, and this in turn allows them to share their feelings and difficulties with another person who would understand all that arises when a family member is incarcerated.  The Hospitality House is our way of responding to Jesus’s command not to neglect the prisoner.  The Hospitality House helps the family which in turn helps the prisoner.

“Do not neglect to show hospitality, for by that means some have entertained angels without knowing it.  Be mindful of prisoners as if you were sharing their imprisonment, and of the ill-treated as of yourselves, for you may yet suffer as they do.”  Hebrews 13:2-3
